Privacy Policy
How TrackdayFinder collects, uses and protects your personal
data, and the rights you have over it under UK data-protection law.
Last updated: 2026-11-01
Who we are
TrackdayFinder is a private test project. If you have any question about
this policy or want to exercise your rights, contact us at
privacy@trackdayfinder.co.uk.
What we collect and why
You can browse the trackday listings without giving us any personal data.
We collect personal data only in these situations:
- Filter preferences. Choices are saved in your browser's
local storage and sent with listing requests to apply your search. They
are removed when you select “Clear filters”.
- Location and travel filters. If you enter a postcode,
the app looks it up with postcodes.io; other addresses are geocoded with
OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service. For road-distance and driving-time
estimates, the geocoded coordinates and circuit locations are sent to the
OpenStreetMap OSRM routing service. Route estimates do not include live
traffic. Successful results are cached in memory by the app.
- Google Calendar availability. If you connect Google
Calendar, the app requests read-only free/busy availability for calendars
you select and read-only calendar-list access to display their names. It
does not retrieve event titles, descriptions, or guest details. Your
selected calendar IDs and an encrypted OAuth refresh token are stored
server-side and associated with a random browser identifier; busy dates
refresh on the first availability request each UK calendar day. You can
disconnect from the filter bar at any time.
- Email alerts. If you sign up for trackday alerts we store
your email address and the search criteria you asked to be notified about,
so we can email you when matching trackdays appear. Lawful basis:
consent.
- Selling a trackday space. If you list a space on our
Spaces noticeboard we store your email address, an optional display name,
and the details of your listing. We email you a link to confirm the listing
is really yours. Lawful basis: consent and our legitimate
interest in running the noticeboard.
- Contacting a seller. If you contact a seller through the
noticeboard we use your email address to pass your message on, with your
address set as the reply-to so the seller can respond directly. We do not
publish your address on the site. Lawful basis: legitimate interest
in connecting buyers and sellers.
- Emailing us. If you email us, we keep that
correspondence so we can deal with it.
Analytics and advertising
This private test project does not use analytics, advertising, or
cross-site tracking cookies.
Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. Where enabled for this test instance,
email addresses are shared only with providers used to deliver requested
email messages. If you use location search, your entered address may be sent
to the location and routing services described above. If you connect Google
Calendar, availability requests are sent to Google to provide the busy-date
filter:
- Resend and/or our own mail server — to deliver the
emails you ask for (alerts, listing confirmations, seller messages).
Trackday listings are aggregated from public organiser websites, and
bookings are made with the respective organiser — when you click through to
book, that organiser’s own privacy policy applies to what you do on their site.
International transfers
Email providers such as Resend may process data in the USA. Where
personal data is transferred outside the UK, it is protected by appropriate
safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement / Addendum or
the UK extension to the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
How long we keep it
- Alert subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
- Marketplace listings and related messages: for the life of the listing
and a short period afterwards, then deleted.
- Email correspondence: as long as needed to handle your query.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access the personal data we hold about
you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict our use of it, to
withdraw consent at any time, and to data portability. Every alert and
marketplace email also contains a one-click unsubscribe link. To exercise any
of these rights, email
privacy@trackdayfinder.co.uk.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your personal data you can
complain to the UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) at
ico.org.uk,
though we would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date at the
top shows when it last changed.
